TULUM

when I came first time to Tulum, 1986 I found the seaside I’ve had been looking for without being aware about. Turquoise sea, sky-blue sky, white sands, crystal clear water, green Palm trees. Quiet and peaceful and hidden

MY PARADISE ON EARTH

 1986

I felt entirely in love with this place and my loving feeling never changed. Changed has Tulums beach. Not the natural way like coasts always do. Tulum beach were changed.

no running water, no electricity, no phone, no shops, just two modest beach restaurants, only a few people, all appreciating this unique place, some had already met before at other backpacker hotspots. A place to change travel experience, for social life far and – at that time – disconnected from home, but as well to be fine alone. Hammoks to spend time in, time to dream, to write, to read for example the Mayan Bible

Unique places were made to be similar to other touristic hotspots all over the world were tourists go to get what they are used to.

it wasn’t any longer possible to enjoy untouched nature

the rare times I was beachwalking there my attention was about the sea. This sea and beaches exists much longer than human beings and…

…what ever humans have done and still do to this coast, will be washed away by time, natures pacience … and power
